Yarn and Eat

We open our school to all First Nations students and their parents/caregivers to come and join us for a Yarn and Eat on one afternoon each term. The afternoon is coordinated in collaboration with the ARTIE program, and usually coincides with a significant First Nations date, such as Indigenous Children's Literacy Week.

The Yarn and Eat allows staff to connect with our community and successfully build two-way partnerships, whilst walking alongside each other in celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage and culture.

A BBQ is provided, as well as many hands-on cultural activities sourced from both within the school and external Indigenous Education Workers.
