A range of clubs is offered at alternate times for students to engage in. These are mostly run during the play break or after school, and offer students further opportunities to participate in activities of interest.
Below is a list of the clubs currently on offer at Marsden State School.
Good Start - Good Start is a program that works with students and their families from Prep to Year 2 to build their knowledge, skills, and confidence about food, physical activity, and healthy lifestyle choices. This club is offered to Pacific Island students and is conducted on a Tuesday afternoon.
STEM Quest - STEM Quest is an after-school program on Thursday afternoons. The goal is to provide opportunities to be involved in STEM projects beyond the scope of what is done during school. Students will explore a range of STEM technologies which may include: Tinkercad, Cospaces, Minecraft challenges, robotics, microbits and science investigations. This program is invite only for Year 5 and Year 6 students.
Glee Club - Glee Club is offered to students across Prep to Year 6. Students engage their vocal talents to learn and perform a variety of pop songs. Their talents are then on show for the school community at different events across the calendar year. This club is run on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the play break in The Arts classroom.
Art Club - Art Club is offered to students across Year 2 to Year 6. Students participate in ‘free’ and structured art sessions to engage their creative minds. They also have the opportunity to enter a range of competitions to display their artistic talent. This club is run on Tuesdays and Thursdays in 6G during the play break (top of X block).
Culture Club - Culture Club is offered to students across Prep to Year 6. Students immerse themselves in First Nations culture through a range of activities including art, dance, cooking and traditional games. This club is run on Thursday during the play break at Durithunga.
