We actively recognise and support our students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
To ensure Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples have a voice and the opportunity to take part in, embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across all areas of the school, the school develops relationships with:
- Traditional Custodians (Yuggera and Gigingin Peoples)
- Community Elders
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Non-Government Organisations, and
- the First Nations school community
Our school acknowledges the importance of building and maintaining authentic relationships and partnerships as being of fundamental significance to, and underpinning the school's Reconciliation agenda. This focus is instrumental to positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and genuine processes of embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
Reconciliation
The school has an enthusiastic Reconciliation Committee led by school based Barna Jarjum Champions. The committee explores and establishes programs and initiatives that support students. The committee follow Reconciliation Australia guidelines and the implementation of Narragunnawali - Reconciliation in Education framework. Our current committee members are:
