Prep 2026
Enrolment meetings are currently being undertaken for children starting Prep in 2026.
Starting school is an important milestone in a child and family's life. A positive and successful start to school, or transition to school, helps to foster a lifelong enthusiasm for learning and requires the family, services, school, and community to be ready which then supports the child to be successful.
All children benefit from a thoughtful, responsive transition to school. Some children, including children from priority groups or with complex needs will benefit from a more planned, collaborative, individual and intentional transition to school. This is called a Tailored Transition.
Families who have enrolled early will have the opportunity to participate in a range of orientation sessions and school events to grow their sense of belonging at Marsden State School.
Once officially enrolled, parents/carers should keep an eye on their email (including Junk Email) for updates and invitations to the Belonging, Learning, Achieving Striving, Thriving (BLAST) into Prep- Orientation Sessions.
In 2024, we had 168 children enrol early with 48 of these requiring a Tailored Transition Plan. After this process, 5 of these families decided to enrol their children in other educational pathways e.g., delayed entry to school- attending a registered Kindergarten for 2025, with a supported Transition to Prep in 2026 with some children continuing on to a Special School.
If you would like more information about enrolments or to discuss a tailored transition to Prep, please contact the office on 3489 9333 or email Danica Marjanac the Prep Deputy Principal – dmarj3@eq.edu.au
