The Parents and Citizen's Association (P&C) is a very important body of people vital to the functioning of our school. The object of this association is to promote the interests of Marsden State School by endeavouring to bring about a close partnership between the parents of children attending the school, other citizens, the teachers and the students of the school. As a member of the association, you are involved in decision making at the school.
The involvement of the P&C is an important part of Marsden State School. One of the primary roles of the P&C is improving the learning environment for the students by enhancing facilities and adding resources to the school.
Over many years the P&C team have been very active and productive. They have succeeded in:
- providing air-conditioning to all classrooms,
- upgrading the library,
- constructing new play spaces and undercover walkways around the school,
- providing student sponsorship,
- subsidising camps and graduation,
- hosting numerous events and fetes, and
- providing tuckshop facilities.
The P&C is also a representative body of the families of Marsden State School and participates in the development and review of some school policies such as school uniform.
A strong, active, enthusiastic P&C is reflected in students by a happy and strong school spirit.
Marsden State School has an active P&C, which welcomes all new parents. Meetings are held in the school Staffroom at 3:00pm on designated meeting dates.
Meeting dates for 2025 are:
- May 14th
- August 6th
- October 15th
- November 26th
It is understood that not all parents can attend these meetings. However, it is asked that full support be given to all P&C functions and activities. You can help to give your children pride in their school by supporting P& C initiatives.
