Prep is the first year of school and provides the foundation for your child's education. It is compulsory for Queensland children to complete Prep, prior to Year 1. Please see the table below to determine the year that your child can start Prep.

Enrolment meetings are currently being undertaken for children starting Prep in 2025. Enrolling in Prep early means that the connection between home and school can be strengthened and that opportunities to engage with the school through transition experiences commence. Families who have enrolled will be eligible to participate in a range of orientation experiences. This will ensure that staff at the school know your child and that your child will have a strong sense of belonging at Marsden State School prior to commencing their first official day in Prep.
