Mobility Support Teacher
The Lets Stay Put - One child, One School, One Year initiative currently being run in Townsville Nth Queensland has been successful in developing individual student and whole school approaches to better understand and respond to mobility and it's impact of student learning.
The EXPECTED OUTCOMES of the "Lets Stay Put" initiative are

Enhanced teacher understanding of classroom responses to mobility.

Reduced rates of student mobility.

Improvement in literacy & numeracy achievement for mobile students.
HOW WILL WE AIM TO ACHIEVE THIS?

By contacting the previous school for information on mobile student.

By liaising with external agencies to support new arrivals and their families.

By liaising with support staff (guidance officer, Behaviour Advisory Teacher, Learning Support) to ensure timely intervention if required upon mobile student enrolment

By monitoring progress (social and academic) of additional enrolments
