At Marsden State School we strive to provide a rich and challenging learning program for more than 850 students. Our aims are:

§  to develop literacy, numeracy, problem solving, social and communication skills.

§  to provide a balanced program that covers academic, creative, social and physical activities.

§  to recognise and cater for the full range of individual student needs and abilities.

§  to encourage students to give of their best and to strive for excellence.

 

Our curriculum framework includes our Skills for Growing, Skills for Adolescence Programs and the Key Learning Areas of:

 

§  English

§  Mathematics

§  Health and Physical Education

§  Studies of Society & Environment

§  Science

§  Technology

§  The Arts - Music, Dance, Drama, Visual Arts

§  Language other than English - Chinese

§  Continued participation with the introduction of the Preparatory Year of Schooling

§  Continued participation in the Assessment and Reporting Framework Project.

§  Participation in the English Syllabus Open Trial Project.

§  Participation in Active After School Communities Program.
